I Bring You Good News Of Great Joy!

Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all people."

For there is born to you this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."

This is the "Good News!" There is no other good news that is eternal. Here on earth mortal good news is only temporary. Jesus is FOREVER!

We have 6 kids, 4 that are old enough to know that Santa is well, just a mortal. A jolly good man that lived a long, long time ago. In our family we have fun pretending when the kids are little but, our emphasis on Christmas, our main focus has always been the CHRIST CHILD. Santa or the elves are never put on center stage. They are never talked about more. We never proclaim that they are the "Good News."

This is the only subject that I know of that you can't balance. JESUS has to tip the scales on this one! And by a very large margin I might add! I'm all for having fun and we do have fun. My children know that Jesus is LIFE eternal. He is the GIFT! He is CHRISTMAS!

Make a point to put Christ into everything you do this Christmas. From the ornaments, to the cookies, the gift wrapping and the gift giving. There are always opportunities to bring the focus back to Christ when this world tries to take Him out.

My children and I are doing Christmas Adventure. It is a Christmas advent that is full of crafts, activities, bible verses and traditions from all around the world. It helps to keep Christ your main focus as you celebrate Christmas.
